Christie Rampone

US National Team captain and WPS Sky Blue captain Christie Rampone was our guest at the 3rd Annual Women’s Soccer Celebration.  Rampone is married and has a daughter, she’s one of the oldest players on the National Team and was a key driver in the US success during the World Cup Championship over Brazil.

“The National Team played Brazil last summer in Colorado.  The whole experience was awesome...The soccer fans were so passionate and enthusiastic, and they showed it by finishing first in attendance!  It was the most fans we had in 2008, domestically!  The stadium and soccer complex was one of the best I have ever experienced.  We beat Brazil, AGAIN 1-0 in front of more than 15,000 people.  Earlier in the same week, I did an appearance at a local soccer store and fans lined for hours getting autographs and taking pictures.  Everyone that I talked to was so excited about the game and having elite women's soccer in their state.” -Christie Rampone
